Bewley Homes has come to the rescue of Mortimer West End Cricket Club with a donation to complete the fundraising for an essential piece of machinery.
The club, based near Reading, was able to complete the purchase a much-needed new roller after an extensive fundraising campaign left them £600 short.
Andrew Brooks, managing director of Bewley Homes, explained: “We totally understood how important this new piece of machinery would be to the club and were delighted to support the cause.
“Bewley has been supporting local community groups, clubs, schools and charities in the local area and further afield for more than 30 years and will continue to do so where we can.”
Chairman of Mortimer West End Cricket Club, Andrew Williams, said: “We can’t thank Bewley Homes enough for this donation which has enabled us to buy a new roller so our members can continue to play on excellent pitches in the future, and our groundsman now has a machine he can rely on.”
Bewley has also sponsored Tadley Youth FC this year with a donation which paid for new kits for many of the junior teams.
