Former Reading FC loanee Dom Ballard is impressing for another League One side after he netted a hat-trick yesterday.
The former Royal has made an impressive start to life at Leyton Orient since joining the League One outfit in the summer on a permanent deal from Southampton.
The striker had spent a short time on loan with Reading at the start of the 2023/24 season after manager Ruben Selles decided to bring him to Berkshire having worked with him at Southampton.
He showed promising signs during his stint with the Royals and scored three times in 10 matches before his season was cut short after suffering a patellar tendon injury which kept him on the sidelines for the remainder of the campaign.
He was linked with a return to Reading throughout the past two transfer windows, but a move did not materialise.
He has since had underwhelming loan spells with Blackpool and then with Cambridge United.
With Southampton willing to let him go from the club on a permanent deal, he was linked with a host of League One clubs, including Reading.
However, he opted to sign for Orient and has made a flying start which has seen him net six league goals in six games, including a hat-trick in their 4-0 victory over Doncaster yesterday.
