A COMMUNITY cafe is welcoming over 50s for a warm meal, drink and a catch-up thanks to a new initiative.
The Whitley Community Development Association’s Welcoming Wednesdays is open to all and will see visitors treated to free soup and bread, as well as unlimited tea and coffee for £1. As the winter months kick in, the organisation is conscious of those who may be struggling financially and socially within its community.
People can drop into the Whitley Community Cafe, Northumberland Avenue, from noon-2.30pm every Wednesday to join the meet-ups.
