A MULTIVERSE of characters descended on Reading on Saturday in a flurry of cult and classic costume as well as cosmic celebrities from across the (fictional) universes.
Reading Comic Con saw all-star appearances from Brian Blessed, best known for his role in Flash Gordon, and Chris Barrie, who starred in Red Dwarf alongside a whole host of cult British comedy.
Displays featured a giant shark prop from Jaws, Jabba The Hutt himself, and a car from Resident Evil.
Attendees were also invited to try their hand at a number of video games and take their photo with classic characters such as the gremlins, Chewebacca the Wookie, Darth Vader, and R2-D2
The event saw a dazzling array of costumes from attendees too, with some dressed as characters from Ghostbusters, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and even a clicker from The Last of Us.
George Burrows from Creed Conventions said: “We were pleased to welcome back sci-fi crowds to Reading Comic Con on Saturday.
“Crowds in their thousands came to share their love for sci-fi and film.”
He added: “The atmosphere was delightful and fun, with everyone involved sharing smiles and getting together for pictures with props such as Jabba’s Palace and more.”
He confirmed also that Reading Comic Con will return to the town on next April.
