IT’S SIX of one, and five of the other … as the musical dominates a list of Reading’s West End favourites.

Theatre ticket site SeatPlan went on a quest to find the town’s most searched-for songs from the stage, and it turns out that the musical about Henry VIII’s wives is very popular.

In fact, five of the entries in the top 10 are all from Six, including the titular song.

On average, music fans search for the song 79.17 times a month while, on Spotify, it has been played more than 56 million times since its release.

The study also revealed that Popular, from Stephen Schwartz’s musical Wicked, was the second most popular song in Reading; on average, Brits search 33.33 times a month.

Say My Name, from Beetlejuice, was revealed as the town’s third most popular musical song. Fans of the musical search for the song 17.5 times a month on average.

The research revealed Popular has been played 72 million times on Spotify, however, Say My Name has more than 83 million streams on the platform.

The fourth most searched-for song was another smash hit from SIX, Heart of Stone, searched for 16.67 times a month.

Alexander Hamilton. the opener to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical Hamilton was the fifth most searched-for song, with an average of 15.83 times a month.

The sixth most popular musical song was No Way and, again from SIX, with searches made on average 14.17 times a month.

A spokesperson from SeatPlan said: “Those who are looking for a musical playlist to enjoy should consider these popular musical songs, as they clearly strike a chord with feel-good fans.

“This list clearly shows Reading’s three favourite musicals are SIX, Wicked and Beetlejuice. However, with the release of the Wicked film set to hit the UK cinemas later this year, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, it will be interesting to see if more Wicked songs creep their way into the top ten.”
