A VIDEO made by the BBC about Lower Earley charity Daisy’s Dream, has gone live.
The charity which helps young people and their families to work cope with the loss of a loved one, was chosen to appear on BBC fundraising programme Children in Need this year.
A group of film makers spent time chatting with youngsters who have benefited from the charity’s work, and put together a video which was included in the TV fundraiser.
CEO of Daisy’s Dream Laura Lewis, said: “Having the amazing work our SAFE group does with bereaved siblings featured on Children in Need was just so lovely to see.
“The young people were incredibly brave in sharing their stories and we are all so proud of them.
“We hope that by having this group highlighted on such a profile show it will help other children and young people who are grieving the loss of a brother or sister.”
Following the broadcast the charity has been hearing via its social media channels, from people touched by the interview.
Comments have included: “Daisy’s Dream were amazing helping my daughter 20 years ago after losing her Dad.
“They also helped me to meet her step-dad. Thank you.”
And: “We won’t ever forget the help Daisy’s Dream gave our family when we needed them. “So well deserved, we are lucky to have you locally.”
