LOCAL RUNNERS are being challenged to take on the Newbury Racecourse half marathon, 10k and 5k event as entries have now opened.

The race, which will take place on Saturday, August 31 will start and finish at Newbury Racecourse.

The race organisers describe the course as ‘flat and fast’ which will see participants take on multiple laps around the racecourse circuit.

The 5k participants will complete one lap, 10k runners will tackle two laps and half marathon competitors will complete the course four times.

Matt Wood, co-founder of RunThrough said: “”We are thrilled to bring the Newbury Racecourse Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k to our lineup of events,” said Matt Wood, Co-Founder of RunThrough. “Participants will enjoy the unique setting of one of Britain’s leading horseracing venues, combined with the fast and flat course that is perfect for all running abilities.”
