The saga for the ownership of Reading Football Club continues as reports have emerged that a bid from a German investor has been made.

Sky Sports has reported that German businessman Daniel Loitz has been in talks to buy both Reading FC and London Irish Rugby Club.

They have reported that Loitz made a bid of around £28million at the start of the year which includes buying the club, the SCL Stadium and Bearwood Park training ground.

However, a club spokesman said to Sky Sports that ‘a deal was never agreed with this investor.’

Loitz also confirmed to Sky Sports that he remains interested in purchasing the club but has had ‘radio silence’ in recent weeks.

Reading Today understands that the club is currently in advanced negotiations with a North American investment group over the sale of the club with talks set to be scheduled for today with Dai Yongge’s representatives.
