Volunteers of the Year, Chance to Dance team, sponsor AB Walker
The support staff team at a dance group for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is made up entirely of volunteers who “do a truly fantastic job”, says their nominator for the Volunteers of the Year award.
Chance to Dance Stars’ aim is to support and provide the joy of dance to children with SEND.
“The whole team … give so much of their time to help the children and families who attend,” said the nominator, who added “they work tirelessly to provide support, keep up to date with training and also to provide support to children and families outside of sessions.
“They all do a truly fantastic job and deserve all the recognition possible. Many families simply couldn’t be without the support they provide to the children and families.
Kerri Coventry is one of the volunteers. “She is a wonderful individual,” said her nominator for the Volunteer of the Year Award.
“Kerri works so very hard to support Chance to Dance, the children and the families who attend,” they added.
“She provides outstanding support to our daughter inside and outside of sessions; she has been a rock to our family through some very challenging times.
“I will be forever grateful for her being a part of Chance to Dance and that we have had the opportunity for Kerri to be a part of our lives,” said her nominator.
“You truly are a Chance to Dance star! Thank you.”
The Volunteer/s of the Year award, sponsored by local family funeral directors AB Walker, recognises an individual or team engaged in diverse and challenging tasks, or simply who have stepped up when needed to help others.
