Police have closed a suspected brothel in Reading town centre following reports from members of the public.
Officers from Thames Valley Police’s Reading Town Centre Team attended the address on Tuesday to carry out an emergency closure. Police said they quickly established the property was being used as a brothel.
A number of men and two women were found inside the premises. The women have been safeguarded, while a man believed to be facilitating the activity was arrested at the scene.
Police thanked members of the public for providing information, saying community reports were vital in helping officers identify and respond to concerns.
Officers said they would not tolerate violence, exploitation or abuse and encouraged anyone with information about similar activity to contact police.
