A property in Reading has been shut down by police after officers discovered it was being used as an illegal brothel.
Thames Valley Police said a Closure Order had been granted for the address in the Southcote/Norcot area following concerns raised by local residents. The order prohibits anyone from entering the premises, with breaches potentially leading to arrest or further legal action.
Officers said the action followed community reports and ongoing investigations into criminal and anti-social behaviour linked to the site.
In a statement, the force said it remained “committed to keeping our communities safe” and to “tackling exploitation wherever it occurs”.
Police thanked members of the public who had provided information, describing their support as “vital” to the investigation.
Anyone with concerns about similar activity is urged to contact Thames Valley Police on 101, or to report information anonymously via Crimestoppers.
