THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Reading.
At around 2.10am on the morning of Sunday, June 16, two groups of people engaged in an argument in St Mary’s Butts.
The argument escalated into a fight, during which a man received a serious laceration to his neck which required hospital treatment, including surgery.
The victim, a man in his thirties, remains in a stable condition in hospital.
Two men, 45 and 46, and both of no fixed abode, have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Bill Sykes said: “I am appealing to anybody who was in the area of St Marys Butts at around the time of the incident to please get in touch if you witnessed what happened.
