THE PERMANENT home for a Reading street food market launches next month.
Blue Collar Corner on Hosier Street will open to the public on Saturday, March 12 at 11am.
The site, behind Broad Street Mall and opposite St Mary’s Minster Church, will be open Thursdays to Sundays, 11am until late. Blue Collar’s current site is a twice weekly lunchtime event in Market Place.
Street food traders will be cooking up a storm from the purpose-built two floor container village.
It features a bar, four kitchens and a beer garden. DJs will be on the decks to entertain the crowds.
Some of the vendors for the new venue have already been announced by Blue Collar Street Food.
Market regulars Gurt Wings will have a permanent residency, offering their award-winning fried chicken dishes to street food fans.
Another familiar vendor, stone-baked Neopolitan pizza makers Sarv’s Slices also have a pitch on Blue Collar Corner.
For those with a sweet tooth, Urban Cheesecake — who are also an award-winning trader — will have a one month residency at the market.
