PACT (Parents And Children Together) has celebrated after holding its first Reading’s Big Quiz Night last week, drawing supporters, trivia enthusiasts, and local residents for an evening of fun, fundraising and music.

The event at Revolucion de Cuba featured live music from the sensational Nichole Grace, a multi-round quiz hosted by Terry Dixon of Terry’s Reading Walkabouts, and a lively raffle that kept guests engaged until the final moments.

The winning team, Old Kent Road, were delighted to win a trophy and team walking tour of their choosing, donated by Terry and Jackie Dixon.

The Big Quiz Night raised over £1,100 to support PACT’s ongoing mission to build adoptive families and empower women, children and parents to embrace a positive future.

Julie MacLean, PACT Events and Supporter Engagement Assistant, said: “We’re really pleased with how the evening went.

“A huge thank you to Terry Dixon for crafting the quiz and compering with such energy, to Jackie Dixon for her brilliant support with the anagrams round and scoring, and to our incredible volunteer Ashton Massey, who not only sourced amazing raffle prizes but brought such warmth and enthusiasm on the night.

“We’re also grateful to Revolución de Cuba for hosting us in their venue, to Nichole Grace for her beautiful musical sets, and to everyone who came along to support PACT.

“We’re already looking ahead to the next Big Quiz Night and hope to make it a regular highlight in Reading’s event calendar.”

PACT is set to host its Carols at the Minster event in December, which will also welcome Nichole Grace.

PACT provides adoption services across southern and central England. It creates families by recruiting, assessing and approving people who want to become parents through adoption and matches them with children looking for their permanent, loving home.

PACT provides specialist adoption support to all its families for life.
