SHINFIELD Studios operators have closed a deal securing £250m in refinancing following the completion of the project last year.
Shadowbox Studios, which owns the new studios, has agreed the new financing with Apollo Global Management, which it says marks a “major milestone” for the facility.
It comes a year and a week after the studios finished construction, since which the site has hosted filming for projects such as projects in the Star Wars, Ghostbusters, and Bridgerton franchises, as well as LOL: Last One Laughing UK.
It is currently the largest new film and television studio in the UK, with 18 soundstages, including two of the biggest in the UK at 43,000 sq ft.
It also features two large, fully climate-controlled soundstages of 43,000 sq ft each, 38 workshops, substantial and contemporary office space, and a nine-acre filming backlot.
Shadowbox develops, owns, and operates purpose-built, soundstage facilities and provides a range of on-site support services for its clients.
In Atlanta, U.S., Shadowbox owns and operates a nine-stage, 850,000 sq ft state-of-the-art studio complex that has been home to blockbusters such as Jumanji: The Next Level, Jungle Cruise and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and which is currently being expanded to exceed 2 million sq ft and feature up to 31 soundstages.
It is also developing a large-scale soundstage campus in the Los Angeles area.
