NOMINATIONS are now open for awards that will recognise the work of those trying to beat crime in their streets.
The Volunteer Recognition Awards seek to celebrate people involved in the Neighbourhood Watch scheme, and categories are open to coordinators, association leads, committees, ambassadors and volunteers.
Organisers say it is a way of thanking those who make the scheme a success.
There are five categories: Innovation and Reach, Crime Prevention, Community Health and Wellbeing, Young Volunteer of the Year, and Special Recognition Award.
The closing date for nominations is Sunday, June 30, and the winners will be announced at the Crime and Community Conference in September.
