A MAN in his eighties died on the M4 yesterday evening, and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident happened around 9.40pm on Sunday, January 7, on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 between junctions 15 to 14.

The motorway was closed overnight into this morning as officers wanted to carry out an investigation during daylight hours.

The man was believed to have been driving a grey Hyundai Ionic.

He was struck by a vehicle as they attempted by crossing the carriageway, and died from his injuries.

Investigating officer Sergeant Lyndsey Blackaby, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are investigating this collision in which a man has tragically died.
