LOVERS of the great outdoors are invited to apply for a Reading job working with the Ministry of Justice.
The government organisation is seeking people for its community payback scheme. There are five roles available, each supervising offenders who are required to do unpaid work in the community as part of their sentence.
This might include leading a group to do gardening or restoring facilities like sports halls and playgrounds.
No experience is necessary.
Speaking more about the benefits, the Regional Head of Unpaid Work for South Central, Matt Simpson, said: “The new Community Payback roles, available in Reading, offer a unique opportunity for anyone who enjoys being outdoors or simply just seeing the impact of their work, with tasks ranging from gardening to decorating.
“In working with a diverse range of individuals, you will also have the unique opportunity to make a positive impact on offenders’ lives, while helping to make your community a better place. It’s incredibly fulfilling.”
Previously known as Community Service, offenders on Community Payback work to do jobs in the community as an alternative to a prison sentence.
Those who apply for the role will be given training and must have a full UK manual driving licence.
