A CELEBRATION of food and drink was held at the University of Reading last weekend – and it was a hit.

More than 700 people popped on to the Whiteknights campus to enjoy two days of beer and food for the second annual Neck of the Woods event.

Taking place at Park House, the festival championed a range of locally produced beers including brews from Double-Barrelled, Siren Craft Brew, Stanlake Park, Elusive Brewing and Stardust.

Food also had low food miles, with ingredients coming from suppliers such as Nettlebed Creamery and Bray Cured.

Organisers were delighted with how it went.

Matt Tebbit, Head of Bars and Dining at the University of Reading, said: “We were lucky with the weather and despite the poor forecast this didn’t stop people from coming to sample some of the best beers from our local area, along with live music from our students.
