HOMES currently under construction on the site of a former Reading institution have just gone on sale.

Bellway is creating Carters Place, named in honour of the outdoor and camping retailer that traded on the site for decades.

The apartments have one-, two-, or three-bedrooms, and the site will also feature four-bed homes. Bellway is promising bright, contemporary interiors and sustainable features including electric vehicle charging points.

The company says they are suitable for first-time buyers, families, downsizers and commuters.

Emma Russell, sales director at Bellway, said: “Reading is in a strong position to make the most of the UK’s booming technology sector, providing plentiful career opportunities locally, as well as easy access to London.

“At the same time, it offers all the charm of traditional town life, including beautiful riverside parks and outstanding-rated schools.
