Harriet Kemsley heads up comedy at the taproom

COMEDY is coming back to the taproom at a Tilehurst brewery next week.

Mates Rates Comedy is returning to Double Barrelled with its latest selection of comics for an evening of stand-up.

Harriet Kemsley is headlining, with support from David Ward and Peter Rethinasamy.

Kemsley has won multiple comedy competitions since beginning stand-up in 2011, including

New Act of the Year at both Bath and Brighton comedy festivals, and made appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Comedy Central’s Roast Battle, and Dave’s Hypothetical.

Dave Ward has hosted events such as BBC’s New Comedy Awards and Channel 5’s So You Think You’re Funny? and supported the likes of Lee Hurst and Tom Stade.

Peter Rethinasamy has won the London Comedy Store’s King Gong Competition and reached the semi-finals of the Laughing Horse New Act Competition and went on to become resident MC at Fulham Comedy Club.

He has also supported the likes of Kerry Godliman and Seann Walsh on tour.

Reading’s own resident MC, Carl Richard, is set to return to hosting duties, bringing his effortless crowd work and down-to-earth material to the show.

Mates Rates’ Comedy at the Taproom takes place at Double Barrelled Brewery, Tilehurst, from 6.30pm on Sunday, November 26.
