Students at The Abbey School are celebrating after the school described their GCSE results as outstanding.

A third (33%) of grades awarded were 9, 59% 9-8 (A*), Over 80% at 9-7 (A*-A). 40 students scored at least eight grades at 9 and 8.

It is a celebration for Abbey School student Sofia Dix Trujillo. She achieved an amazing six grade 9s, two 8s and a 7 in her GCSEs.

From September she will be balancing training and playing for their women’s Under 21s side alongside studying for her A Levels at The Abbey.

On her results, Sofia says, “I’m really happy! I was shocked by some of them but I worked really hard for them.” She shared that she’s “ready” and “excited” for next year studying Maths, Biology and Spanish.

Headteacher, Dr Sarah Tullis, shared: “Sofia is an outstanding student and person on and off the football pitch. To have managed to secure such stellar grades alongside such high-level sporting commitments is testament to her extraordinary talents and commitment. We are so proud of her.”
