Fire near Three Mile Cross

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service has warned that it is currently responding to a fire in Cardiff Road, Reading, which it says also involves hazardous materials.

Crews from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue attended a chimney fire near Three Mile Cross last week.

In a statement they said: “At 8:43pm on Wednesday, November 12, we received reports of a fire on Hartley Court Road near Three Mile Cross.

“Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Wokingham, Mortimer, Crowthorne, Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside three Officers.

“They were joined at the scene by crews from Oxfordshire fire and rescue service and Hampshire & Isle of Wight fire and rescue service.

\”Upon arrival, crews discovered a chimney fire that had spread to the rooftop of a detached house.

“Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used four hose reels, two main jets, ladders and the aerial ladder platform to extinguish the fire.
