FIRE CREWS were called to a kitchen fire in Reading town centre on Saturday.
The incident happened around 10.18pm on June 22, in New Bright Street near County Lock.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service send crews from Caversham Road, Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations to the flat.
Wearing breathing apparatus, they used a hose reel to extinguish the fire before using a fan to ventilate the home.
They also provided immediate emergency care to one person.
Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 20 minutes.
