A wave of superheroes, sci-fi icons and comic-book enthusiasts is expected in Reading next weekend as the town prepares to host its annual Comic Con at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre.
The event, organised by Creed Conventions, promises a full day of pop-culture celebration, running from 10am to 5pm.
What to Expect
Celebrity Guests: Actors from film and television will be meeting fans, signing autographs and posing for photographs.
Props & Displays: Large-scale sci-fi and fantasy installations will offer plenty of opportunities for immersive photo moments.
Trader Stalls: Dozens of vendors are set to offer comics, collectibles, artwork and memorabilia.
Cosplay Competition
Attendees of all ages are encouraged to dress as their favourite characters, with prizes for standout costumes.
Family Activities
Retro gaming stations, LEGO zones and green-screen photo areas will provide hands-on entertainment throughout the day.
Why It Matters
Though smaller than the major national conventions, Reading Comic Con has carved out a loyal following. Organisers say the event’s appeal lies in its community spirit and accessibility, while still offering the spectacle fans expect from a modern pop-culture convention.
Tickets are priced at £9 for adults, £5 for children, with family passes at £25. Early-entry options are also available.
