A PUB that is to be demolished to make way for housing is to be immortalised with a new street name.
Nascot Homes, is building seven new houses in Surley Row, Emmer Green on land that replaces The Gardeners Arms, which was previously owned by Greene King.
The council’s planning department approved evidence Nascot Homes provided demonstrating that the new homes will comply with emissions targets.
Last November, councillors decided to name a small new road to serve the homes ‘The Gardeners’ in honour of the demolished pub.
The site will comprise four semi-detached and three detached houses once complete.
The proposals can be seen on Reading Borough Council’s planning website, searching for application 231008.
