WITH England due back in action in the Euros this evening, Thames Valley Police is issuing a timely warning: don’t paint roundabouts.
On Sunday evening, the side beat Serbia 1-0, thanks to a goal from Jude Bellingham.
At 5pm tonight (Thursday, June 20), they will take on Denmark, before a final group fixture against Slovenia on Tuesday.
Gareth Southgate’s squad only need to win one of those to progress to the knockout stages of the tournament taking place in Germany.
Fans attending the tournament often paint their faces in the colour of the St George’s flag … but police are hoping those at home won’t do the same to roundabouts in the region.
In a statement, they said: “We have had a number of reports about St George’s flags being painted on roundabouts and zebra crossings.
“While the Euros are an exciting time for many football fans, we would please ask that you refrain from doing this as it has safety implications.
“As well as distracting drivers, it also draws attention away from things like zebra crossings which could lead to a serious accident.”
