Thames Valley Fire and Rescue were called to reports of a boat in need of rescue on the River Thames in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene at 9.25am on Sunday, February 11, along with the Water Rescue Unit from Caversham Road fire station.
A statement noted: “Upon arrival, crews discovered the boat travelling downstream between Caversham Bridge and Reading Bridge.
“Firefighters on a water rescue boat caught the boat in distress and securely moored it.
“One bystander was taken into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
“Crews were at the scene for approximately 35 minutes.”
