BRACKNELL TOWN FC continue their love affair with the FA Cup this weekend in a mouthwatering tie against League One side Cambridge United.

It will be the second consecutive season that the Robins have faced League One opposition in the FA Cup first-round.

Last season, Bracknell earned a home tie in the first-round against League One high flyers Ipswich Town, who eventually went on to win promotion to the Championship.

After putting up a valiant fight and restricting Ipswich for more than an hour, the Tractor Boys eventually won 3-0 to move through to the next round.

Jamie McClurg and Carl Withers’ side will be out to try and cause a cup shock this weekend on their away trip to Cambridge.

Their side already stunned National League Dagenham & Redbridge in the last round when Kameron English’s 94th minute winner helped the Robins earn an historic win.

Bracknell have had mixed results so far in their Southern League Premier South campaign and currently sit in 10th with six wins, a draw and six losses.

Bracknell’s opposition on Saturday are in 12th spot in League One on 20 points with five wins, five draws and six defeats.

They picked up a point in a goalless draw at Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night.

Among the current Cambridge squad is former Reading centre-back Michael Morrison.

Morrison made more than 100 league appearances in a three-year period with the Royals before he returned to his boyhood club Cambridge following a short stint at Portsmouth.

The U’s were victorious when they met Reading in League One at the start of September, in a match that was broadcast live on Sky Sports. Fejiri Okenabirhie netted the only goal of the game in the 83rd minute.
