Ascot Racecourse is gearing up for a spectacular finale to the Flat season as QIPCO British Champions Day returns on Saturday 18 October 2025, offering locals and racegoers alike a rare chance to witness some of the best flat horses in the world competing for huge prize money on the hallowed Berkshire turf.
With over £4 million in total prize money on offer, this is officially Britain’s richest raceday, and it promises drama, spectacle, and crowning moments. As well as that, there is live music from Aston Merrygold and Artful Dodger, post-racing. It is therefore no wonder that the King Edward VII enclosure has now sold out.
Many of the season’s biggest names and highest-rated racehorses in the world have already committed with Trawlerman, Field of Gold, Ombudsman, Delacroix, and Calandagan among them looking to fight it out in the £1.1m Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (sponsored by QIPCO) and £1.3m QIPCO Champion Stakes, two of the feature races that crown the Champions from this season.
QIPCO British Champions Day has a full festival atmosphere for families across the region and with free admission for under-18’s, there’s something for everyone. Highlights of the day off-track include:
• Jockey Masterclasses & Signing Sessions: A masterclass session with a jockey in the Family Zone, interactive demonstrations at the Jockey Gym, and autograph opportunities with top jockeys.
• Virtual Racing Experience: Try the Virtual QIPCO British Champions Day in the Family Zone, a digital warm-up to the live action.
• Family Entertainment: Face painting, balloon modelling, colouring competition, giveaways, and even a magician.
• Meet the Stars: Get up close to an ex-racehorse and learn more about the equine stars of the sport, as well as seeing a Retraining of Racehorses parade.
• After-Party & Live Music: Once the racing draws to a close, the party kicks in with headline acts Aston Merrygold and Artful Dodger.
