A BODY has been recovered from the River Thames in the search for a man from Reading.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that the body was located in Sonning on the afternoon of Monday, February 7.
Officers were originally called to reports of a man in the water near Caversham Bridge at around 10.25am on Monday, January 10.
Although formal identification hasn’t taken place, Thames Valley Police believe it is the missing man.
The man’s death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and his next of kin have been informed.
Superintendent Steve Raffield, local policing area commander for Reading, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the man at this very difficult time.
“I would like to thank the emergency services and Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue for their support.”
