THIS YEAR’S GCSE results are an “important landmark” for a Reading school.
Blessed Hugh Faringdon’s headteacher, Dr Simon Uttley, said in spite of the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, his Year 11 pupils have achieved fantastic grades this summer.

A third of the grades awarded to the 150 pupils at Blessed Hugh Faringdon have been 7s, 8s and 9s, while more than three quarters (76%) of results awarded were between 9s and 4s.
The school reported nearly two thirds (63%) of students achieved a standard pass in English and maths, with 45% achieving strong passes.
Dr Uttley said: “These are important landmark achievements for our school and students as these results enable the students to progress on to the next stage of their education.”
