ONE OF Berkshire’s most exciting show events is set to return to Prospect Park this year.
The Berkshire Motor Show is back at its home in heart of Reading, bringing big vehicles, big engines, and a much-loved machine from the 80s.
The Ecto-1 from the Ghostbusters franchise will be among the star cars at the event after having made the 1959 Cadillac Miller Meteor Ambulance model a household name in 1984.
The model will be one of the three genuine ambulance hearse combinations in the UK, built by Dream Cars of Redhill for Sony in 2009 as a promotional vehicle for the 25th anniversary of the first film.
It was later sold on, now belonging to Carl Hopcraft, who is bringing it to the show after having managed to get the vehicle signed by all but one of the original cast.
This year it is raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which provides support for those aged 13-24 facing cancer.
Organiser Steph Awbery said: “This year we have live wrestling, living history from the wild west, dog training teams, hovercraft rides, car clubs, live music, and a fun fair.
“We will also be joined by the Trotters Independent Traders Van– so hopefully people will enjoy the day and help to raise funds for charity.”
The Berkshire Motor Show returns to Prospect Park on Sunday, July 7.
Bookings are still being taken for vehicles and traders, by emailing: stephawbery@outlook.com or by calling 0799 066 7503
