A FOLK favourite is coming back to Reading once more next month ahead of a national tour.
Essex-born Jay McAllister, better known as Beans on Toast is set to play Face Bar in December, hot on the heels of the now-traditional new full-length album release on December 1.
Kill Them With Kindness will be the 18th studio album from the album, and will be followed up by a national tour, set for March next year.
Ahead of the gig, he explained: ““We’ve done a few tours together, but this was our first venture into a studio.
“Each one of them is amazing, and together… well, I’m proper chuffed with how it sounds.
“This album is a bit of a juxtaposition, as is the title.
“There are songs that deal with the current state of the world–wars, maniac leaders, the rise of AI and the fall of the establishment.
“Then there are songs about trees, late nights in music venues, art, love and my new cat.
“As usual, it’s a time stamp of my thoughts and feelings from the past year on planet Earth.”
Beans on Toast is playing at Face Bar on Sunday, December 7.
