Police have confirmed that they have arrested a woman following a fail to stop serious road traffic collision in Reading yesterday morning.
A 29-year-old woman from Reading was arrested on Saturday morning on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and is currently in police custody.
The arrest is in connection with an incident which took place around 4am on Friday morning where a woman aged in her forties suffered serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a car on the A329 Caversham Road, near the junction of Abattoirs Road.
The woman remains in hospital in a serious condition at this time.
Roads Policing Lead Investigator, Detective Sergeant Robert Chevalier said: “We have now made an arrest in connection with this incident, but I would again like to appeal to anybody who witnessed the collision, or the moments leading up to it, to please get in touch.
“I’d ask people to please check doorbell, dash-cam and CCTV footage to see if it has captured anything that may assist the investigation.
