BOSH! A new meal deal at a popular fast food restaurant has been given a helping hand thanks to a star Apprentice contestant.
Tom Skinner, who was one of the BBC TV reality show’s most successful sellers, was tasked with promoting McDonald’s new three for £3 menu, which launched last week.
Available for three weeks, the mix-and-match menu includes fries, burgers, nuggets, McFlurries, and apple pies. Customers can select any three and pay just £3.
Tom’s pitch included wearing a sandwich board, spinning a giant arrow, and standing on a soap box, outside one of McDonald’s London branches – the offer is available in all Reading and Lower Earley branches too.
His street antics came after a study of 2,000 adults revealed 21% regularly walk around staring at their phone or paying little attention to their surroundings for an average of 15 minutes a day.
The 33-year-old said: “Some people walk around in a bit of a daze – even when there is a lot going on around them.
“This special deal is such great value I wanted to bring out all my sales tricks to point people in the right direction of something tasty – literally./”
The study also found 31% of adults admitted to being so switched off to their surroundings they have missed something unusual happening near them.
Top reasons for not bothering are they don’t think it will save much money, there must be a catch and they find them too complicated.
Mr Skinner said: “It’s amazing what you’ve got to do to grab some people’s attention. I think I got the message across to everyone about the tastiest deal in town.”
The offer runs at McDonald’s until June 11, and is more expensive if ordered as a McDelivery.
