PEOPLE will be able to quiz experts, and test drive vehicles at an EV event in Winnersh in July.
Anyone worried about costs, or confused about charging will be able to put their questions to specialists, and will also be able to try out a range of EV vehicles, including an electric hackney cab.
Experts from Energy Saving Trust and the University of Reading will explain the grants that are available for small businesses switching to electric, and the financial savings that can be made, while at the same time dispelling some of the myths that surround electric transport, and inspiring individuals and small businesses to move towards a net zero transport system in the borough.
This is the first electric vehicle awareness event, organised by Let’s Experience Electric, Winnersh Triangle Business Park and all six Berkshire local authorities in Wokingham, Reading, Bracknell Forest, Windsor and Maidenhead, Slough and West Berkshire.
Although the event is mostly focused on Berkshire businesses, organisers say that residents are also very welcome.
Visitors must register in advance, and spaces are limited so early booking is recommended.
People should note when booking how to obtain free parking on the day, and which documentation they will need in order to test drive electric vehicles.
The EV event takes place at Building 1010 and the green opposite, Eskdale Road, Winnersh Business Park, on Friday, July 11.
It runs from 10am until 2pm, with lunch and refreshments provided.
