Thames Valley law firm Blandy & Blandy, which has offices in Reading, Henley-on-Thames and Wokingham, has donated £21,116 to two local charities.
The firm has supported Reading-based Berkshire Women’s Aid and The Cowshed, based in Wokingham, since 2023. It recently announced that Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service and Thames Valley Air Ambulance will become its new adopted charities from July 1, 2025.
Blandy & Blandy’s chair, Claire Dyer, a partner and head of the firm’s Family Law team, presented a cheque to both charities earlier this month.
Alix Simpson, chief executive at Berkshire Women’s Aid, said: “Over the past two years, Berkshire Women’s Aid (BWA) has had the privilege of working alongside Blandy & Blandy as one of their two chosen charity partners.
“It has been a truly rewarding experience, filled with enjoyable meet-ups, fun events, and impactful conversations that have helped raise vital funds and awareness of our domestic abuse services within the local community.
“Blandy & Blandy’s support has gone beyond fundraising; their team has generously introduced us to valuable contacts, provided legal advice and championed our cause in countless ways.
“We feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to partner with such a committed and compassionate organisation.
“To the whole team at Blandy & Blandy, thank you. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and unwavering support have made a tangible difference in the lives of survivors — and all of us at BWA are sincerely grateful.”
Rebecca Mole, fundraising manager at The Cowshed, added: “We are incredibly grateful for Blandy & Blandy’s unwavering support over the past two years — from inviting us to the firm’s events (we really enjoyed the quiz nights) and fundraising on our behalf, to volunteering, donating and supporting our projects.
“The team has always been so welcoming and friendly, and we’ve truly valued the partnership.
“Blandy’s generosity and kindness have made a real difference to our work and to the lives of those we support in the community.
“As our time together comes to a close, we wish the incoming charities all the very best and know they’ll be in great hands with their support. Thank you.”
Claire concluded: “As we say a fond farewell and thank you to BWA and The Cowshed, it is lovely to look back on the fantastic relationships we have enjoyed with both charities and the variety of ways in which we have been able to support and work with them, which has been a real pleasure and privilege.
“A big thank you to colleagues at Blandy & Blandy for their excellent efforts in terms of fundraising, volunteering and lending their support in other ways.
“We look forward to keeping in touch and to continuing to hear about the vital work that both charities are continuing to undertake in our local community.”
