It’s a wellbeing centre based inside Hotpod yoga at Chatham Place in the town centre, they offer a number of different treatments and this week we will be looking at the Ozone Steam Sauna.
Have you heard of an Ozone Steam Sauna ?
I hadn’t, but it’s something which needs to be talked about more, especially because there are loads of benefits to having this treatment, the Ozone Steam Pod at Float Zone is like having three treatments all in one, ozone, steam and Infrared.
Let me explain a little more. The treatment begins with sitting inside the pod, Darren, the manager preset the temperature to a comfortable heat of thirty-five degrees, this can increase to forty degrees, it was my first experience and so I was happy to start on the lower temperature. He closed the doors on the pod and placed a towel around the neck, this was to seal in the steam and heat from the treatment and left the room turning the main light off and leaving me with a lovely sensory light surrounding the room including the walls. The treatment was for 30 minutes but Darren said he’d check on me after 10 minutes to make sure I was okay.
The pod uses pure distilled water, it’s filled with ozone 03, which is a form of activated charged oxygen together with infrared. This treatment can be beneficial to promote detoxification, stimulating the immune system, purifying the blood and lymph system, it can help with eliminating autoimmune diseases and help to prevent/reverse degenerative diseases, speeds up the metabolic process, boosts blood circulation helping injured muscles to repair quicker…the list continues.
Having already benefited from a float and Infrared sauna before this treatment I only managed the 10 minutes in the pod. Because of the steam and the heat, it’s possible to feel the sweat drops on your skin whilst having the treatment, I liked the fact my head was out of the pod.
I’d like to try this treatment again and see if I can manage a longer time as the benefits are really worth the investment.
A 30 minute session for the ozone pod is £35 however as a new customer you can benefit from three thirty minute sessions for £70 which is such good value or as an alternative for £75 why not try a 60 minute floatation, 30 minute Ozone and 30 minute FIR Sauna, Mother’s Day is just around the corner.
