FUNDRAISERS revealed they had collected a princely sum when their grand finale event took place at Tilehurst Triangle.
Pangbourne Rotary Club says that despite the cost of living crisis the public donated more than £8,000 during the three weeks between Monday, December 2 and Monday, December 23.
After carrying out 12 street tours and four static location events, the club led a grand finale at Tilehurst Triangle with mince pies and mulled wine, accompanied by carol singing from the churches of Tilehurst.
The event attracted more than 500 people.
A Rotary spokesman said: “Happy faces, and over £8000 raised is a fantastic result.
“We would like to thank the public for their amazing generosity and all the volunteers who make this happen.
“Like many voluntary organisations we struggle to have enough helpers to maintain our fund-raising events, which enable us to donate over £35,000 to deserving causes, so if you are interested in helping us, having fun and doing good why not consider joining Pangbourne Rotary?”
The club’s next fundraiser is the Woodcote 10k Run, which starts and finishes at Woodcote Village Hall, on Sunday, January 12.
