A BUSINESS in Reading has bagged a sustainability award at this year’s Berkshire Business Awards.
Clean energy technology company Enviromena, which is headquartered in Reading, was given the Clean Energy – Sustainability award.
The Berkshire Business Awards recognise and showcase the achievements of businesses in the borough from a wide range of categories and sectors.
Entrants are judge on the merit of their contributions to their relevant fields, irrespective of size or scope of their operations.
It comes as the company is looking to expand its portfolio around the UK, aiming to provide more than 500 MegaWatts by 2025– enough energy to power more than 200,000 homes.
Enviromena CEO Chris Marsh said: “We are thrilled that our contribution to the green economy has been recognised with this prestigious award.
“As a Reading-based company, it’s particularly important to us to have won. We are embedded into the Berkshire community; many of our team are from Reading and we recently launched our first apprenticeship scheme, which offers young people living in the area an exciting career in renewables.
“We know that there are some highly credible companies in the green energy space,” continued Chris, “and we’re extremely proud that our dedication to leading the transition to a world powered by safe, affordable and reliable clean energy across the UK and Europe has been recognised with this award.”
