Reading FC has announced their released and retained list for their under 21 and under 18s sides following the end of the campaign.
Noel Hunt’s U21s side had a spectacular end to their season, despite ultimately ending in disappointment as they were knocked out of the semi-finals of the Premier League 2 play-offs in the final minute of extra-time by Sunderland.
The following players have been given one year extensions with the club: Jacob Borgnis, John Clarke, Jeremiah Okine-Peters, John Ryan, Charlie Wellens.
Adrian Akande, Matthew Rowley, Jay Senga-Ngoyi, Michael Stickland and Basil Tuma have all been offered contracts by the club and are currently negotiating.
Meanwhile, Hamid Abde-Salam, Billie Clark, Jahmari Clarke, Harvey Collins, Ajani Giscombe, Geneiro Maragh, Harvey Maudner, Sam Paul and Ben Purcell have been released.
The club said: “We would like to place on record our thanks and best wishes to all nine players listed who will depart the club at the expiration of their contract.”
Most notably on the released list of Jahmari Clarke, who made 14 senior appearances for the club.
All 12 of his league appearances came in the 2021/22 campaign where he scored twice in an away win at Birmingham City in November 2021.
However, after loan spells with Woking, Forest Green Rovers, Boreham Wood and Yeovil Town, he will leave the club as a free agent.
