A READING bar that underwent a £275,000 refurbishment just over a year ago is to close its doors tonight.
Revolution, on Station Road, will serve its last drinks on Friday, January 5.
The bar reopened in November 2022 after an upgrade which bosses said at the time would give a ‘more premium experience’ to its customers.
The vodka bar offered cocktails, flavoured vodkas, brunches and burgers. Its menu included fried chicken and bacon waffles, grills, and pizzas.
During the evenings, DJs would be on hand to set the tone.
The refurbishment included two-tone upholstered booths, LED-lighting fixtures, marble-look table designs, velvet curtains, gold tiling.
It could hold up to 575 people.
In a post on social media, the team behind the bar said: “We have loved shaking your cocktails and creating unmissable days and nights over the years, but as of today, 5th January, we will sadly be closing our doors in Revolution Reading.
“We wanted to extend an enormous thank you for joining the Revolution party over the years.
“Any guests with bookings will be contacted in due course – Thank you for your patience and understanding.
“Our team are ready and waiting to offer you your next Revolution experience in your nearest London-based bar, Revolution Leadenhall.
“Alternatively, our sister venue Revolucion de Cuba Reading would also love to welcome you.
“Thank you, and goodbye.”
