READING Biscuit Factory played host to a Christmas market with a twist as it welcomed the inaugural Queer Christmas Festival.
The venue teamed up with the band VIASKA to bring stalls, shows, and screenings to Broad Street in the run up to the festive season.
It saw performances from Iota Events, Reading musicians Colours and Fire, and Lady Jezzika, as well as a screening of Todd Haynes’ Carol, as well as stalls selling seasonal sundries.
One of the stallholders, drag performer DUAC, said of the event: “For queer people, Christmas can be a difficult time.
“I think it’s absolutely wonderful that VIASKA and Biscuit Factory have put their own spin on the festivities with us queer folk at the heart of it.
“It was a lovely moment to feel that Christmas joy in a place I felt safe and appreciated, and the support me and my partner (Maebh Springbett) on our stall was unprecedented- it made us feel really cheery and bright!
Thay added: “Huge thanks to everyone involved for putting on such an amazing event.”
