A BANK with a branch in Reading town centre is organising a special collection this Christmas to help victims of domestic abuse.
Metro Bank, based on the corner of St Mary’s Butts and Broad Street, is welcoming donations of bedding and sleepwear for its festive appeal.
These will be given to Berkshire Women’s Aid, who will then share them with people it is supporting as they recover and rebuild their lives.
The bank is asking for donations of duvet sets, towels, toiletries, pyjamas, long life food, single bedding and single sheets.
Reading Metro Bank Store Manager Matthew Green said: “As a community bank our colleagues and customers want to support those most in need this Christmas through this fantastic local charity.
“We would encourage everyone to give a little this Christmas – even one tin can make a difference. I want to thank everyone in advance for their generous support.”
Donations can be left during opening hours, from 8.30am to 6pm every day except SUnday, when the bank is open 11am to 5pm.
