A RIVER cruising company is hoping to come to Caversham and has applied to Reading Borough Council for the necessary permissions to operate.
Vintage Days Out is an Oxfordshire-based experience company that holds river cruises, tours, and has a 1933 Rolls Royce to hire for special events.
It is hoping to move its vintage vessel to Caversham, and is seeking approval from the council for a music and alcohol licence for its Charles Cooper Henderson Vessel.
Built in 1933 as a beach-launched lifeboat for Dungeness, it was one of the Little Ships, used in 1940 for the evacuation of Allied soldiers from Dunkirk.
Under the licence, the firm can sell alcohol and play recorded music from 9am to 11pm daily, and host live music from 6pm to 9pm on Fridays and noon to 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Comments about the application can be made by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk by Thursday, September 28. Response could see a licensing meeting held.
