A WOKINGHAM man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault which took place in Reading on Monday, July 4.
The 18-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug, and remains in custody.
It is in connection with an incident which took place at around 3:25pm on Monday, July 4, during which an 18-year-old man was stabbed on the Kennet towpath, near Avon place.
The victim has now been discharged from hospital.
A Section 60 order was put in place in east reading as a result of the incident, which will now conclude at 6:40pm today.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Turton, based at Reading police station, said: “Our investigation into this assault is continuing and we have made an arrest in connection with it.
“Further, the section 60 order that was enacted on Monday will end this evening.
“Thank you to the public for your understanding whilst this order has been place, it is important in keeping our communities safe.”
